In one of the earlier posts on Rhodes I mentioned that like much of Mediterranean the Romans had ruled the island for a while. Just life everywhere else once the Romans came the Romans had to prove they were there leaving solid evidence – here it is in the form an ancient stadium, one of the best preserved Roman stadia in Greece dating to the 3rd Century BC following the Romans taking the island.
The Odeon with seating partially reconstructed is also here. It enables some concerts to be held her but the Roman version was larger I believe.
Another warm day – the trip has been warm and we have not done very much with just three outings and this one was quite short. More than enough activity, we retreat to the hotel and continue doing nothing much at all.
